Øystein D Nilsen (46) steps up as managing director of Inocean's engineering activities. Nilsen is succeeding John Namork, who is now ending his planned term at the helm.
Namork has been a central figure in establishing the current organizational structure and formed an outstanding basis for further development. Namork will continue to act in a managerial capacity within Inocean Engineering's activities.
20 years of experience
Øystein D Nilsen comes from a position as business development manager at Inocean, which he has held since 2008. His duties have entailed participation in Inocean's management group. Nilsen has more than 20 years of experience in the oil & gas industry in management positions and within design, engineering and business development. His experience covers the market for FPSOs and drill ships, semi-submersibles drilling and production platforms, offshore support vessels etc. His career has included work for Rolls-Royce in Norway and Singapore, Smedvig Asia Ltd Singapore and Maritime Engineering. He received his Master of Science in Offshore Engineering at Heriot-Watt, Edinburgh UK.
