One has a CV nearly as long and weighty as an ULCC. The other is just initiating her engineering career. Meet Lars Elling Fjørtoft and Jorunn Seglem, both newcomers to Inocean in 2010.
Ladies first: Jorunn Seglem is a naval architect who recently graduated from the University of Southampton - whose non-professional list of merits includes being a Norwegian Slalom Championship medalist.
Surfer
"At Inocean I hope to immerse myself in my field, which I find fascinating, while working with an exciting group of people who represent a wide array of knowledge and skills," says Seglem. Her role is in the Structure, Design and Analysis Group at Inocean.
Jorun Seglem packed her belongings and brought her partner with her from her home town of Haugesund, and they've installed themselves in a flat at Majorstua. "As an avid surfer I've grasped the fact that my colleagues at Inocean cultivate marine-related interests. That suits me just fine, even though it's so far here in Oslo to the closest wave worth catching!"
Specialist in marine systems
Lars Elling Fjørtoft comes from Aker Floating Production. Prior to that his career has taken him to companies including Leif Höegh, Anders Wilhelmsen and Bergesen. He has also spent over 20 years at sea.
"Concept development is probably my main partiality," he says. "And especially within the field of marine systems. Here at Inocean I'm joining a circle of people who are concerned with innovation. I'm looking forward to working on FPSO projects and maybe LNG solutions, which I have previous experience with and strong faith in," says Fjørtoft.
