Specialised Offshore Ships
Inocean has worked with the design and development of several new ship concepts for the offshore market. These include heavy lift wessels, ships for the installation of offshore windmills, well intervention ships, well stimulation ships and crane ships.

Our strong marine knowledge combined with core skills and experience from many conversion projects means that we can develop this type of concepts quicker, smarter and more effectively than many others.

The entire process

We can help our customers through the entire process, from concept development to design and engineering work down to the detail level. We can also undertake the planning and coordinating role from A to Z.

A typical Inocean scope of work includes:

. Building specification and general planning
. Hull structural design for class approval
. Marine system design
. Stability
. Electro and instrumentation
. Fire and safety plan
. Displacement and stability test

An example: Sealift/Frontline/Dockwise

Inocean completed a project for Sealift that included engineering and class documentation for the conversion of six Suezmax tankers. This involved the removal of a Suezmax tanker cargo area and the design, manufacture and installation of a replacement section for deep-draught ballasting. The vessels are built to handle transport of floating structures that weigh 20,000 metric tons or more.

Fast-track construction

Inocean delivered building specifications, drawings and documentations to support classification approval for yard fabrication. Then, we assisted the yard and the customer's site team with fabrication supervision. The total construction time from project engineering start to delivery of the first vessel was only 18 months!

We have also been the naval architect for conversion of tankers to heavylift vessels for the US Navy.
